Somehow I've made it this long at DPC without ever entering a bug-on-flower shot. I entered a butterfly on a leaf once so that's pretty close I suppose.

Picked this beauty while on a walk as I was planning to take a flower shot for the challenge (don't tell my neighbor - she has more than she can use anyway! : ). To my later delight I found this tiny little guy (not even an inch) resting on one of it's petals. I am pleased to anounce that no inchworms were harmed during this shoot. Severely traumatized perhaps but....

This would be another of my "I-wish-I-had-a-macro-lens" shots. Someday I will see fit to spend money so frivolously.

Shot in RAW - RAW conversions. Photoshop - levels, curves, neat image, USM, dodge/burn, magic glasses action, blur, selective color, hue/sat, crop, border, save for webb.

Hey Birthday girl !!

As you are walking about the house keep mutterin to yourself " mustn't boast . . mustn't boast . . must be sympathetic to hubby . . didn't really finish 15 pages higher than him . . . " :- )

Lovely colours . .

ps you ought to buy a macro lens . . my shot was taken with my new macro lens . .

8 - Beautiful image - love your focal points. Can't help but wonder if a variation in cropping/framing may have given this even more - like to have seen the focal areas more centered or just 'further' in the frame, if that makes sense.

Wow!!! great colors. The way pink goes along with cyan is simply amazing. The worm (or whatever) adds more interest too. Great flower picture.

appealing composition and colors. That little guy is a nice touch. How did you keep it in place to get this pic? They're moving so fast.

Beautiful color palette but I think I'd like a bit more negative space at least to one side. It feels a touch cramped, but the DOF is awesome.
