At first glance this seems like such a simple shot, yet on further examination it's so much more. The gull is fine as the subject, yet the background really makes it taken on a new characteristic altogether. Instead of being that annoying creature waiting for a free lunch, it's part of the land and sea, almost bridging the two. It takes on almost human characteristics, like a person taking a leisurely stroll down the beach at sunset. |

The colors are gorgeous. I can just smell the water and know that time of evening at the beach. Well captured. |

I really like this < Amanda- it has a "day's end" quality and the layers of sand and water fascinate me- jonothan Seagull fits right in !!! |

It's like a post card already. No need for a reshoot with the macro. I like the way the white on the gull picks up the gold of the reflected light. |
