Taken at the Bradbury Science Museum in Los Alamos, New Mexico while my husband and I were visiting there this weekend. This is an exact duplicate of the "Fat Man" Atom Bomb built shortly after WWII; it looks so small, no bigger than a good sized cow - it is amazing and terrifying that something this size could destroy the entire city of Nagasaki and kill so many thousands of people. One can hardly believe that something so cruel and deadly could look so much like a cartoon version of a bomb. The other atom bomb replia "Little Boy" was out for repairs so we didn't get to see it.

At the end of the challenge I'll post another view of this photo in my portfolio with a person in the picture to give more of an idea of the actual size of this dreadful bomb.

Too much of the flash reflection, it sticks out from the ambient lights (Tugsten). Longer exposure with a trip would have been nice

The lengthly, explanatory title would make a useful comment in the 'Details' box provided under the image. As a title, it is, IMO, distracting and, unfortunately, de-mystifying the image. A great find and worthy subject though.

Being as I am totally disgusted with the human race, I guess I like the subject of this photo. Yes, it shows great strength. But even bigger weakness. Human weakness, their obsession with reaching bigger and better and more destructive technology. It is pathetic the way the whole human race has been so greedy that they've become blind to the fact that they are killing their own race. Themselves. Complete stupidity!

Nice shot, and I agree with the sentiment. It needs a tighter crop at the top.

I Gotta Admit That I Think That This is a Strong Contender for the Longest Ttitle I've Ever Seen on This Site: Dpchallenge - and I Think It Possibly Could Have Been Shortened But You Are The Photographer After All and Thus As The Artist You Have The Right to Name It Anything You Really Wish If You Really think It Adds to The Impact of Your Photo So Rock On Fellow Photographer

Good subject. I like the reflection in the window as well.

Wordy title, but I don't deduct for that.

Editorial title doesn't add anything. Photo is rather static.

Great idea, maybe a little underexposed.

I am not sure that a picture that needs such a degree of explanation works properly. Good thinking though.

As we chose the identical subject, and both photos appear to be technical equals, I have no choice but to score your image a 10! LOL!! I expect neither of us will break a 4 average!
