Big cable pulley from one of the sailing vessels in the old harbour of Hoorn. This is not a Macro, the pulley is just big and I zoomed in to a 35mm eqv of 210mm. The idea of zooming in was to get a shallow dof and to create this perspective where the mast and other cables are pulled closer.
I stabilized the camera against one of the lower pulleys.
In my opinion the dof is just a bit too shallow and it is front focussed. You just don't notice with these freaking small useless electronic viewfinders. :( I still like it because of all the lines.
I worked on it a couple of days ago with dpc non-membership in mind, so everything was legal. I believe to have rotated it, curves, channel mixing, resampled, usm, save for the web.
Experimented with B&W and Quadtoning, but that didn't look well.

Great idea using the ropes & pully's perhaps showing it lift something would have had a much 'stronger' impression. |

interesting depth of field, but the subject matter doesn't really grab my attention and the light is kinda flat. Sorry to sound overly critical ;) Still a decent shot. |

needs more depth of field, too much of the photo is not in focus |

If it was clearer that this was a pulley and ropes, maybe shot from the side of the pulley would be better photo. |

Rigging on a sailboat? Nice. Too bad the sail wasn't in the background. I like this 8 from me. |

Maybe more depth of field would have made it better. |

I like the pulley concept for the strenght theme, perhaps this should should have been done from another angle, I would like to have seen more of the pulley it self. |
