the depth of field works well with this subject. It's not generally a very photogenic subject. |

I had a similar ideology of strength in this challenge. But I doubt any of us will do well since apparently people don't buy knowledge as a form of power (..from the comments I've received so far).
Regardless, nice image. A wider depth of field and a little more light would have been more effective. And maybe next time you can minimize the shadow, I find it distracting.
Good capture.

If knowledge is power, why is the definition of know-it-all, a perjorative phrase indicating someone who pretends to have power, but really doesn't, in focus and the bulk of the definition of knowledge out of focus? I think more DOF, or a centering of focus on the definition of knowledge, would have made more sense. |

Maybe having the focus on Knowledge, not 'Know-it-All' would be more appropriate...
just a suggestion |

good idea... I wish the definition of the word knowledge had been in focus instead of know it all! |

Is know-it-all the focus for a reason? I would focus more on the first few lines of knowledge. |

I like this photo.. my only complaint is that the first thing my eye is drawn to is "know-it-all", rather than knowledge. |

Excellent display of DOF! |

Nice angle, but it really shouldn't be focused on "know-it-all"... really disturbs the effect. |

The only thing I would point out that there is a difference between "power" and "strength". Power is a more generic term, while strength is a word describing physical attributes such as raw strength and longevity. (you are by no means the only one. Check out this thread: kamps.org/g/?vkmv) I think you picture describes "power", but not "strength", and hence falls outside of the challenge. Sorry. (2) |
