Nice photo overall. But......you left the date stamp in the corner. ouch. |

Jeepers, remove the datestamp please. |

I know the date stamp proves your picture date, but it would be a much better photo if it wasn't right on the picture |

taking the pic from a lower vantage piont, might have given the subject more of an ominous and powerful feel. |

color slightly washed out. it seems like this is a new/your first camera and you are just getting used to it. turn the date stamp off. it seems useful, but your files are already tagged with the date while they are in the camera. |

The colors and textures of the gun are well rendered. From a composition point of view, I think the pucture would be far more expressive shooting straight into the barrel. And the red date stamp can ruin any picture; there has to be a way to shut it off. |

"strenght" is spelled strength! |

What's up with the date? Unless I missed a few months of my life. I like the photo. |

not going to mark you down for the spelling but having the date on the pic is a big no no |

Yeah... Unfortunately this has some text on it and it distracts from the canon. Perhaps a more angular shot of the canon would be better suited for this photo. I would have approached this from the ground up on an angle to show power (submissive when on the bottom) and that would also be in line with the challenge.
The title is also mispelled. |

Ugg! pictures with dates stamped on them might best be kept for a personal photo album, not a challenge. It gives it such a touristy snapshot feel. Sorry I did not rate this very well. The subject looks weathered and has alot of character other aspects might have worked better for you here eg. closer differerent views/aspects. |

A good picture, but the time stamp looks very unprofessional. |

Do you need to show the date on this image. |

I got to say that you really donĂ¢€™t want the date on the photo. Given that you had it from the camera I would have cropped it out. |

Oops, earlier I commented on being out of the submission dates when later it was brought to my attention this is a valid date given dd/mm/yyyy. Sorry. At any rate, I would opt to turn that feature off when taking photos for a challenge. |

This shot could be improved greatly with some "rule-of-thirds" composition and some tigher cropping. Also, the red digital date stamp really detracts from this image. |

yikes on the date! == main subject not in focus (barrel) and lighting is a bit flat. |

on overcast days sometimes using b&w will bring out the detail and contrast and help a picture. looks more retired than deatly, but i'll take your word for it :-) |

The date detracts from your subject. |

This is a very straightforward approach to the subject -- perhaps something unexpected, or very expected such as looking down the barrel. Also, I'm sure you're getting hammered on for the date. |

If it were me I think I would have turned off the date stamp feature. |
|
|
04/14/2004 02:50:40 PM |
just my opinion but this photo would probably do better in black and white |
|
|
04/14/2004 01:59:20 PM |
this looks a little flat, and too well centered. play with your dop, and the rule of thirds, and for Gods sake, take off the date. |
|

The focus seems a little soft overall. Maybe apply some sharpening in your post-processing. IMO: the red date detracts from the photo. Can you turn this off? This information is usually captured in the JPEG information and is not needed on the photo itself. |

The image quality is so-so, but the fact that you couldn't be bothered to turn off the date on your camera fails to impress, I'm afraid. I think it may also be against the challenge rules to have text in your image, but that's beside the point. |

rule of thirds, rule of thirds. And does having the date stamp here constitute text? |
|
|
04/14/2004 04:21:21 AM |
I would have liked to see this looking directly down the barrel. I believe this would fit in with the challenge more effectively., |
