 Had this baby since 20th. I cannot see myself getting a better shot than this this month, actually I was thinking of saving it for best of 2008 but I have something else that is a solid contender for that one too so here we go.. my free study for July is this 50 year old Chimp from Colchester zoo who spends most of his time laying down these days. I looked him into the eyes and asked him for some inspiration to find a ribbon winning shot for DPC and he sat up and smiled at me and said "inspiration is everywhere my bald friend" (I'm fluent in Monkey Talk)

oh man, what emotion, what intelligence behind that face. I would call this a portrait, there is more personality in this capture than many images of actual humans. Congrats on the top 10 (out of 521!!!)

I can not beLIEVE this dropped below 7 at the last minute. This photo pierced my soul the minute I saw it. I had a hard time leaving it and going to the next one.

You almost hung on to that 7! But how sweet making the top10. Great shot and great work. Really had fun reading the photo comments from you Mak. You captured his expression perfectly. Dont imagine seeing it any other way.
