This is my first submission, so hopefully i'm doing all of this right. This photo was taken in a friend's kitchen with a 250watt worklight, black sheets and white face make up. The only editing done on this photo is adjustment of levels to help brighten her face and take out some golden hues. I'm very open to critiques as i do not have a lot of experience.

Hi Juliane,

This is a nice capture but it really does not convey that Stone Cold look. I think this is do to the eyes and the overall facial expression. It looks more like Im sorry forgive me type look. Also it looks to me that from between his eyes & up across the right side of his forehead are a bit hot. I do like the use of the black sheets this was a nice idea. The one distraction to the image is that upper right corner, the brown immediately catches the eye. Overall you have a nice image. It has interest and the tonality is well done. I think with a few minor ajustments it could be outstanding.

Interesting take on the subject!

Back to comment: Without the title, this image does not convey cold to me very strongly. Besides that, the focus needs to be much sharper on the eyes. It is hard to connect with the person when the eyes are not sharply focused. I downloaded your image to add some sharpening and it appears as if the chin is where the sharpest focus occurs.

On a side note, it doesn't appear as if you sharpened your image after downsizing for the challenge. Downsized images almost always need to be sharpened as the last step in post processing. If you need help with this, please send me a PM and I'll try to give you a hand.

you used nice light but the face is a bit to far to the left. The top of the noose may never pass the cheak line. I also would make or take the photo with a soft filter. than it is not as sharp as it is now.
