 It's now called Blessing Tire Shop since Blessen (the previous owner) sold the place, but they never fixed the paint job on this side. There had been a couple of trailers parked directly in front of this wall for a few years, probably filled with tires, but they magically (to me) disappeared a week or so ago. I remembered the biblical quote from way back before the trailers' appearance, so I wanted to get this shot before anything else got in the way.

The quote: "No weapons formed against thee shall prosper." A slightly different version was repainted next to the front door around the corner.

The ISO was still at 400 for some reason. Turns out it helped make the shot noisy since the 40D seems to suck at ISO 400+

I thought about putting this in "Still Life," but I bet it would have gotten too many DNMC votes since it isn't a studio shot.

Well seen. I like the chairs - no good reason for them to be there, but there they are anyway.

This is a great shot. I love how muted the colors appear, it makes the scene more interesting to me.

Larry (I assume) your shot on flickr seems sharper than this one..not sure why. I have to go out and find this spot now. Neat shot.

there's a loss of detail in the shadows but nice crop
