 This is my cousins new kitten. His name is Finnegan.

Light is from floor to ceiling windows to camera left. My Aunt has these nice wood shutters that I opened to get all the light in. The horizontal lines that you see in the background are those shutters and I thought I thought they would make for a less distracting background than the things behind. Some people liked it, some didn't.

I got quite a few good shots, but trying to keep Finnegan in that box was tough. This was actually my first shot taken and I think it's the best of the bunch.

Post Challenge:
Oh, so close to top ten. Oh well. I think the score could have suffered some because of how many "cat/kitten in a box" pictures there were. My last two challenges were 6.4+ so I'm super happy.

Looks like the same cat in the same challenge. This one has much more 'Box' but still a lot of the focus seems to me to be about the cat. 8

Yucky title! Soft processing suits the kitten nicely. Wish there were a wee bit less clutter in the background; I might've just gone for a tighter crop.

OK, I aint a kitty lover, and not a big fan of pet shots in general, but this is TOTALLY awesome.. we should see this in the top 5 at the very least, maybe top 3.. could even win it.. great work. 10

Lots going on in the background. Tonality is similar so you might get away with it with a little less backlight.

im a sucker for well taken pictures of animals
I love this and the title is clever, 9

recently my cat started flushing the toilet- but would go potty in the trash can, meanwhile the litter box is in the corner of the room
