 Shooting a still life is a real trip. I was trying for the "old master" look but had to abandon that notion due to lack of knowledge - how to light, how to use my camera, how to in general - it was frustrating.

This is where I would have liked to go with the theme, but that would have required advanced editing:


Also, I'm sure this would not do well here on dpc. But hey - it was fun to experiment.

I love the lighting in this - so gorgeous. The goblet is definitely beautiful. I love the set-up with the bread and grapes. I agree with the others - should have finished higher!

Alicia, I would have expected a higher score. This was my favorite of the ones you showed us. A very well thought-through composition.

i think that this fit the challenge so very well. I am stunned it wasnt front page. A very easy way to get the lighting of the old masters is to do light painting.

lovely story behind the goblets too, she would have been proud that you used them
