 A bit cliche but I'm not used to using my macro filter much so I'm quite pleased to capture this with it :-)

This was the best shot of about 3 lunchtimes sitting in front of the same group of thistles. The weather was gorgeous and it seemed a racing certainty each day that it'd be surrounded by wasps and bees.

I had to use manual focus as the AF isn't fast enough, and I've got a very shallow DOF with my macro filter.

Gave myself a bit of a fright doing this when a bee flew into frame - about twice the size as the wasps but it's surprising how big they look when you're looking through a viewfinder and one pops into frame - I jumped about a foot in the air and my language was appalling lol ;-)

Dedicated to my DPC Olympics team mates, who have put up with the fact that I got 3 6+s in a row before the olympics started and my form has since bombed :-( Hoping this shot is the start of better things.
