 Last year I shot myself in the shoulder with a 3 1/4" coil nail!!!
if you look close on the side of the nail you can see the wire barbs from the coil.
The nail gun fell off the top of a wall and when I caught it my thumb hit the trigger and the nose safety hit my shoulder. I felt no pain there was no blood. Took the next day off work and ended up going to play 9 holes of golf. : )
I was soooo lucky. The nail hit only muscle. Just missed the bone, nerves, and an artery. I was in emerg for about 30mins and the nail was out. It took another hour for them to say I could go.
