took me a while to get this done..
first I had to get a wooden board (which was old and dirty with weak colors), then cleaned it with sandpaper, then drilled a little hole into this board, screwed the bolt a little.
Waited for the night, turned off all lights except a distant table lamp so I had exposure of about 2 seconds.
had to play with the angles alot to get this right - the hammer's handle had only one good side and I didn't want any extra shadows in my photo.
Eventually, I got this done with few backgrounds and me moving the hammer slowly everytime.
Cropped, added a frame & NeatImage.
Hope you liked it :)

Nice shot, but serendipity? Then again I'm struggling with many shots in this challenge.

That I´ve often seen done so I dont know if the idea is very original. But the image is ok and I like how you´ve captured the movement of the hammer withou much blurr. The bolt could be sharper and maybe better focused, maybe it just needs a litle USM.

An intriguing shot. The composition is good, but the exposure is a little too yellow/orange. The concept of hammering a screw is an odd interpretation of serendipity - I'm not sure it fits. I'd like to see the whole hammer head in the frame, or cropped more at the top, as it is now, it feels a little off in balance.

Interesting technique. The background is degraded on my screen. And, I have to ask, how is this a "wise discovery" or a "fortuitous accident"?

Serendipity? Not seeing it here.

Where's the serendipity aspect?

This is clever, but I'm not sure how it relates to serendipity.
