I didn't rotate the original picture. The camera was rotated when I took it.
Automatic settings on my little camera.
Taken at Almost Heaven Star Party (ahsp.org) outside a yurt. This little guy is smaller than my foot. I took many good nature pictures on this trip: deer, baby bird, silhouetted trees... so it was more difficult than usual to pick out a best one. I had to rely on my friends online to help me. All except for one voted that snakes are more awesome than deer. The deer is kinda cool too, but I guess it's rarer to see snakes.
There was an outtake of the snake shot from the other side, with very nice curls made by the snake and a more green background. But most friends chose this one because it is more close-up and one said that the background complements the color of the snake.
I hope for a 5.5+, if lucky, a 6+ |

This great shot would IMO be even better with the distracting green thing cropped off. The left part of the snake is out of focus anyway and doesn't add much. Nice job. |

an excellent shot but sorry, try as I might, other than using the word dawning in your title, I cannot find the connection to the challenge theme. |
