 Running the single shot through Photomatix brought out the light on the bench side very nicely, but created very dark clouds. In the first edit I did, I kept the clouds dark. Then for the challenge entry, I lightened them up so they weren't quite so, well, dark.

Hi Melethia,
Globally more attractive shot than the first edit, the light emphasizes the bench here.
I don't think you could do better with a single shot and the Brussel's sky :)
With several exposures blended in Photomatix or PS, something more dramatic was probably possible.
I really enjoyed some of the Brussel's shot (and others...) in your portfolio.

I personally like the dark clouds because they make the cathedral pop out from the background more. Plus my feeling was that the guy should have been highlighted and the brightness of the sky in your entry competes with attention that should have been given to him. My preference is this photo but in either case, it's a very cool moment that you have captured.
