 This is Chapel Rock at Pictured Rocks lakeshore as seen from a boat. This is down the shore from my Evening entry. I narrowed down my submission between this photo and the only non-challenge photo in my portfolio. It was a tough choice. In the end, I thought that this tree was so unique that it just begged to be shown here. As you can tell from the photo, the roots of the tree span across the rock divide to more fertile ground. Apparently, trees do not grow that well directly into stone.(although I've seen many other trees do this) ;-)

Pretty cool. Rich colors and an interesting subject to boot. I wonder if there is more you could have done to isolate the one tree from the background, perhaps a different angle. Still, I like it.

Beautiful. You might tip it back a few degrees to make the striations horizontal...that's a bit distracting. Otherwise quite nice.
