Based on a true story -- I've hidden a small cache of cash in a book before, and forgotten about it until I happened to be looking through the book some years later.
In this case, I couldn't find any "old" bills, so I hid most of it in the shadows, trying to just reveal enough to identify it as money. I also thought it appropriate to use a copy of Ansel Adams' "The Print" as the forgotten book ...
Handheld in maco mode, incandescent lighting, spot-metered, auto exposure. Tone curves to adjust contrast a bit, and to reduce glare/specular highlight in the lower-left corner, mode change to grayscale and back to RGB, USM filter. No cropping.

Serendipity is a difficult concept to visualize. For me it means being at the right place, at the right time, and being lucky enough to capture something unique. Some of these entries are set up shots trying to illustrate that concept, and some record a serendipitous moment experienced by the photographer themselves. This is a good example of the former. It's a good example of something that most people have experienced, and nicley composed and photographed. I wish the bill had some color in it to pull it out a bit more from the book. |

A ckever idea and a nice execution, but I would have chosen a better book / page to use as I think the picture of the church is quite distracting. |

Too contrived for my tastes. |

boring, trite, cliched, hackneyed.
Sigh... how many more of these are there in the contest. So much talent you have, but push yourself! Money is an obvious idea, go for not obvious. :) |

Unfortunately, this cliche was often attempted this week which will lower the scores of all attempts. Yours was the best of the breed. Nicely executed. I like DOF. Levels are good except the left is a little hot. |
