Aperture: f5.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250

This is my first entry. I was stymied by the assignment and saw this at an artwalk this weekend. I did some cropping and contrast adjustments to make the faded paint show up better.

I just looked at this picture again. emailed a link to my husband sitting at his computer in the other room because this kind of humour is right up his alley--he uses a Sharpie to surprise me with new products in my pantry such as Crap Olive Oil a.k.a. Carapelli and Old Gay seasoning a.k.a. Old Bay. Anyway, a second look made me realize that the ivy creeping along the side of the building looks like an upright bear. Too bad you couldn't have managed a 'bear erection'.

an ox erection, jajajaj. serendipedous for some, posibly not for others, jajaja. I like this subject, and your framing. Nice shot. 7

The photographer pays attention to their surroundings and it shows. They took advantage of a serendipitous arrangement of letters on a sign to make a funny, new statement. Not an outstanding composition but given the limitations it works on a certain level.

A nice shot, but not very illustrative of serendipity.

An interesting concept. This building is a good subject for photography. Colors and overall technical quality of this image is not as good as it should be and that hurts it. he wires, though you can do nothing about them, are a distraction.

While it's somewhat intriguing to think that plant life will overcome anything we build which becomes dilapidated. This isn't really portraying anything serendipitous. It's rather flat... a different angle might help.

Sorry, I don't see how it meets the challenge

If serendipity is the foliage covering the word that I think it is at the bottom then very clever!!

OK first of all I want to say I love this image. It's definately in my top 10. Here's the few minor things I would change...get more of the vines in the shot, that green is compelling and I would love to have a bit more. Crop out the roof and wires in the top right, the opposing lines are taking away from the vertical direction the wall panels are providing. Or if you can work the roof in, shoot on a day w/ a clear blue sky to get a strong 3rd primary color in the shot - the blue/green/rust colors will play together nicely. All in all, awesome (8)
