 Single exposure taken in Canyonlands National Park, UT.

Long hike, hot temps, and amazing cloud cover made for a great weekend of shooting. Thanks to John jrtodd for showing me this wonderful place!

Camera setup was the d200 with my 12-24mm lens, tripod and my SB800 with the GF lightsphere with the yellow cover on top to keep the light nice and warm.

Not a whole lot of post work really, total processing time was about 20 minutes max. I used a bit of layer masking to get the overall exposure to what you see here.

Started off with a h/s layer then burned in around the edges to darken them up a bit. This should pull the the eye into the ruin.

Two curves layers which I then masked what I wanted to keep from each, this enabled me to lighten the sky and the grainery to the perfect exposure.

Finished off with another layer of h/s and a bit more b/c.

Re-sized, sharpened and save for web.

Haven't been in the FS for a while hope you all like it.

I really love the composition of this. Great foreground interest with alot of Depth to the photo. The shadowing and detail really adds to the overall image. Nice processing.

I feel the magic in this shot is in the vista at the left, not the rocks at the right
