A few challenges with this picture - it was a miserable rainy day, so the lighting was awful. I'd love to return and take this again.
The bits above the doors are window sills, and there was no real way to crop them out as the left hand one comes up against the top of the door frame. I thought about rotating the camera and adding the windows to the shot, but this took the focus away from the doors. The easy answer would be to clone them out, but this would break editing rules for the challenge.
As for the chap in the shot - I took some without him in, but felt that he added a little interest to the shot and couldn't resist leaving him in with his matching clothes!
It could do with a little sharpening, it lost some on resizing. I must practice my photoshop skills!
I do think I'll return on a better day and take this shot again.

Added 3/9 Bumped to 3rd - wow! Shame to see the image above me DQ'd, I really liked it.

Let me be the first to say, congrats on 3rd place. A well deserved first ribbon.

ETA: As an aside, if you put another chap with a mustard yellow blazer and jeans in front of the blue door, you would have been a contender for the blue ribbon.

honestly, the person bugs me, and I think you should have waited for him to leave. Maybe if he was more exciting, but crowched down, staring at a cell phone isnt thrilling by any means. Great colors, cool doors, just too bad about "him"

This is a great shot. Personally I would have liked it even more without the person in the picture, but that is a personal preferance.

Very nice. A little oversaturated, but very nice subject. The image could also be sharper -- I'm guessing you have taken this picture as far as your camera/lens will let you.

Like this - I like that his jacket is color coordinated with the picture's theme. Only one small nit (and very minor) crop to get rid of the thingie above the blue door, maybe? Or not. Comopsition is well balanced as is. Nice find!

for me this is the winner. Such a great photo. I think the thing that absolutely makes this photo soar to the top is the guy sitting in front of the orange door with the blue sweater. Perfect!

I like the repetition of colours: yellow wall and blue door, blue wall and yellow door, blue coat and kind of yellowy pants and shoes, the golden plaqye on the wall is yellowy too...
