Does this fit "serendipity"? Does it show "serendipity"? I don't know, but I'm suffering challenge withdrawl, and it felt close enough to me. I did just happen to look in the right place at the right time, and just happened to spot this guy scurrying into this hole. Does that fit...?

The first couple of shots were just black holes, then I remembered to try turning on the flash, and I was fairly happy with the results. Wish I had gotten in a little closer, but these guys are very skitish. Taken with a teleconverter attached. I was also very happy with the focus (which is often hit-or-miss with the TC on) - the lizard was very sharp right out of the camera.

Not too much post-processing. Cropped more severly than I initially wanted, but otherwise the lizard just didn't stand out as well. Played with curves for a while to bring out the colors on the lizard and darken the shadows a little. They were so close it was hard to affect one without the other, but the results worked OK. Think I'll go back later and try applying different curves to different parts using masks. Sharpened with a few different passes, resized and mild sharpen again.

Preparing for a "doesn't fit the challenge" creaming....

Very nice capture - hope you were using a long lens. Difficult shot considering the exposure range - you did well to capture the detail in the reptile without blowing out the highlights on the surrounding rocks.
