If there was a breeze, I can see why the leaves would be a bit soft looking. It looks like there was something moving across the road when the shutter was open. There's an odd looking spot there. Maybe the darker line across the road causes the illusion?
It's a beautiful scene, and looks a lot like places that I remember seeing in Georgia.

Looks like the idea is there, the execution is missing a little ooomp for me. Not sure if its color or contrast my eye (subjectively speaking) wants, the light through the trees looks like it probably gave you fits in metering this though!

Rule of thirds hurt this image which is meant to be symmetric.

I honestly believe this shot could have been in medal contention, but there's something that seems to be muddying the details. Might be the focus, lens is too soft, or a rather large aperture was used. Can't quite tell.
