 Impromptu photo taken while car was stuck on lower part of the dirt road. Taken at about 4pm. Subject is a friend trying to find reception for his mobile phone.

Changed to grayscale, increased contrast, sharpened and resized (remains uncropped), saved as mid-quality JPEG using Photoshop.

If you say so - it looks well traveled to me. The photo is excellent, I'm just not buying it for the challenge. I have no idea what he's holding up - maybe that's the clue?

I am trying to figure out what it is that the model is doing with his hand up in the air, and, what is that thing in his hand.
