 This is my first attempt with an overlay.

This is the original

I used this overlay in Overlay blending mode at about 50% opacity.

Although the overlay isn't visible, I like the effect it produced.

I've been working with Roz's tutorial. Thanks Roz.

That's one of the wonderful thing about overlays...they don't have to even be noticeable to make an impact on an image. This has rendered the portrait a lovely tone with more depth and character. Well done.
