 A floral is not the usual for me, however I really liked the way this one came out. I used Canon's "Fantastic Plastic", the 50mm F1.8, for this shot. I recently got it and am still learning what I can do with it. I like the way the shallow DOF guides my eye right up to the part I like, which is the closed buds with the outside light creating a halo of the fuzz on them.

Pre-challenge notes:
I know a floral shot needs to really stand head and shoulders above the rest to get a high score here. Some may feel it is overexposed, but I like the high key effect on it. Figure this may be good for a mid 5.

Post challenge notes:
Wrong again. This is why I don't do a lot of florals.

I like how wispy the flower looks in front of those bright highlights, but I think more cropping was needed to clean up the image and place more emphasis on the focal point.

Unique processing makes this stand out and not be just YAFF but its a bit overprocessed for me
