This is defintiely not a technical masterpiece, but I prefer it that way. It has a wistful voibe to it and as such is quite memorable. I see many shots of trees that are just so perfect - sharp, focused, smooth - but this will stick with me longer than those for its evocative qualities.
I hope the tree is well cared for! : )

The composition and cropping on this is nice but I'm not certain that the black and white is complimentary enough without a sharper focus. |

This is way too out of focus to qualify as a competent photograph. The composition is good, however, and the subject meets the challenge. Low marks because of the crappy focusing. |
