 My daughter Coraline with her camera, natural light outside, no sun. The black background is a bamboo's edge.

I tried to create something from the contrast between the cold and metallic Ixus and the feminine hand and face ...absolute not sure how this could score.

Raw converted with DXO optics pro 5.2, and some very minor adjustments in CS3 (levels, noise, color balance).
Converted in B&W and slightly sepia toned.
Rezised, USM.

Not crop at all.

The conversion to B&W is a nice touch. Really creates a contrast between the camera and the girl behind it :)

Razor-sharp detail on the fingers & camera itself. Nice job on this one :)

haha I have the same camera, but I dont understand your title. Great focus and wonderful lighting, and contrast, I even like fact that this is black and white, I guess I am failing to see what the point of the picture is.
