I like the idea of this shot, but I think I would like it better without shallow DOF... I think the other duckies in this pic are important subjects as well as the one in the center. Or perhaps if all of them were out of focus instead of just some of them. |

Yuk-yuk!! An idea that I would have been proud to come up with myself! Not sure the shallow DOF really enhances the shot, but I still like it. |

The DOF is good in this, maybe a little bit too large. If the orange and blue duck were a bit less in focus it would be better. The trouble with this shot, as far as garnering good votes for a Ducky shot goes, is that other than the ducks it is a bit bland. Props like shovels and maybe some "trees" in the background would help. At the moment it's just "some ducks on sand" and the colours etc just don't make this a memorable shot. As for meeting challenge, you tick that box. I wonder if the title is a bit to cryptic for a lot of people too? |
