purpose of the photo was to learn about shallow depth and I had a hard time coming up with settings that I felt had what it took......I changed aperature more often than I can remember and read all kinds of articles on how best to achieve it and though I do like the blurr of the background I would be interested in what my settings should have been to make this picture more dramatic

Is the lighting a little harsh and the pic slightly over exposed. I know it would have been a tough shot with the shadows inside the guitar so not sure what to recommend except multiple exposures.

Good shot.

Interesting. We rarely see the pick make such a prominent appearance, and it's a very style-y pick at that. However, overall, even though it's technically sound, it doesn't really excite me.

Good idea but too busy. It takes a little while to understand that it is actually a pic on a guitars strings. I like the idea but just too busy.

The light on it seems harsh and the hard shadow of the pick distracts

The shapes and lines are interesting. I like the shadow of the pick but might have moved the primary light around some and used another light or two to minimize the brightness and reflections (and even shadows) in the rest of the shot.

Would have looked better if you put a sheet or something in the guitar under the strings and then the pick would stand out better.
