You won the hotly contested brown ribbon. I still say that this is a beautiful image. I gave it a 7 and would have given it higher points if I saw the connection to the challenge. He just doesn't seem dead to me, even though I know he is. That's part of the beauty of the picture. It brings him new life. |

Had to look up that definition. Why is this in safety? Perhaps because it is safe now that you squashed it? |

Don't see safety communicated here. |

The image just isn't sharp and I fail to see how fear of bees conveys "safety" |

Lighting isn't the best, as the bulk of the insect is much too dark. The texture in the background is very distraction. Perhaps if you tweaked the exposure a little (or the brightness and contrast if you're not shooting in RAW) to lose the background and bring out some of the detail s lost in the shadows. Focus is also a little off. Good effort though. |

Doesn't meet the challenge IMO. |

Maybe if there was a bit more light on the bee it would have been easier to get a sharp focus. I don't think that I can accept the idea that safety is a dead bee. The creatures are threatened with a devastating bug, and the possibility of a world without them is too grim to contemplate. Sorry to preach environmentalism to you. |

Not seeing "safety" in this one |

I had to google your title to find that Melissophobia is fear of bees. I don't see how that relates to 'Safety' and the photo is very out of focus for me. I can't see that making it so on purpose would help relate it to Safety. Do you have Melissophobia? If so, the photos blurriness might make a little more sense. |

A fear of bees = Safety? I'm just not getting it. An odd choice for a background for the bee to be on. Lighting could have been better as well. Sorry, I'm not into this one too much. |

Back to comment: I don't see much in this photo that relates to safety. Regarding the image itself, the wrinkles in the background are not very appealing and the lighting is uneven, causing loss of detail in the dark areas of the insect. The focus appears to be good, with the head of the insect looking sharp. |

I don't get "safety" from this but it's a lovely picture. |

This would maybe have been better in a fear-themed challenge. That is one scary looking bug. |
