I had so much trouble coming up with an idea for this challenge... I started with crayons... and then I thought... bah... not original... then my Fiance reminded me of a different pic I took last year with ketchup, mustard, and relish, then i thought, hey, they are colourful right?... i was going to write some stuff with the condiments, which is what I had dome with the other photo... but after several hours of thinking about it, i ended up with this idea... It took many tries... I started with my brother, he is very patient, but he gave up half way through on the test shots, so the end pic has my hands and my dads. I used my big toe to push the remote shutter release =) tricky, but it worked... I had an SB-800 flash on the camera, with a Garry Fong lightsphere pointed up and High Power, and an SB-600 coming from the side to lighten up one side of the items in the pic...
All i did was adjust the file in camera raw:
exposure
saturation
contrast
blacks
brightness
Then I converted to black and white in CS3, cropped, re-sized, and submitted it...
How will it do? well... it's not bad... but i'm sure that there are some other crazy ones out there... so i'm thinking mid 5's... maybe 5.6? but you never know... =) |
