 spent long long long time in post processing with this one! this is a woven rocking chair, shot with a tripod and remote outside early am; there are many letters from which to choose off of this rocker for the challenge

opened with camera raw conversion in CS3, applied:

grayscale
strong contrast
heavy clarity
heavy sharpen
darkended blacks,

then in CS3:
curves
levels
horizontal flip of image
light posterization until details desired
buzz filter #3, then faded until details desired
crop from top and bottom
sharpen again with USM

resize for web
