 I got the idea and the title, when i found these heart shaped sugar cubes at the supermarket. Then i remembered an old song from Dire Straits 'Expresso love'. I thought Mark Knopfler wouldn't mind if i changed the title a little. Actually i changed only one letter!

I had a hard time dealing with the smoke, cause smoke from real espresso coffee was so weak, almost invisible in the photo. So i went with plan B. First I had to borrow a cigarette from my brother in low cause i don't smoke. Then I used an empty coffee cup and put in a piece of paper towel with some tobacco in it. That gave me stronger smoke and enough time to take the shot. Took a lot of shots till i finally got one with the appropriate amount of smoke. I'm not quite happy with the shape of smoke but time is running out, so i think this is the one.

Two SB-25 used for lighting. Both strobes were in manual mode, one bare one snooted, behind and above the cup.
The background is a plastic paper that is usually used as background for fish tanks. One side of this paper is full with sea plants and the other one is black and quite reflective.

There are some light reflection in the right bottom of the image that i couldn't get rid of them no matter what i tried.
I think it's time to build a light tent...

Description of challenge: "The final photo MUST be in black and white (and the grays in between)."
I've gotta vote you lower because of the color. Bummer... I'm sorry 'cause I really like this image. :(

This would do well in the Black and White in Color challenges. Remember it for when there's another one.

This image seems to be a dual tone one.. not pure B&W. It is a great picture, but unfortunately it will be DQd I think. If not, I wish you luck.

A very nice image.. although it does not meet the challenge.. this is black and white in color.. not color in black and white..
