Man, I really liked you're shot, awesome idea, i thought it would place a lot better. I think the out of focus dog turned people off. Brilliant idea, just work on the details. Good luck in future challenges.

I see where you were going with this, but you have no focus on either of the main objects. You need to set your camera to a higher f stop in order to get more of your shot in focus.

The shallow depth of field has left you with only the leaves in focus. And they aren't the point of the picture! The composition and exposure are good, and it's on topic. For me, humor works better in color, and b&w for more "serious" things.
