Shot manual from what Timfythetoo taught me - off camera flash with the 580 into a silver umbrella (no tinfoil this time, I bought a real one) and a relector on the other side to add highlights (homemade, yes, using tinfoil).

I don't expect this to do really well among so many really good photographers of this genre, but I am sure I will get some kudos from friends after the challenge because this is a really good shot for me.

Yeah, I'm thirsty for more after my recent run of success!

Right now 5 1/2 hours before rollover and I am looking at a 5.2206, which is very exciting for me!

Yeah I'm a slacker... so I'll give a long comment to make up for it lol.

What a cutie! He looks very comfortable in front of the camera. I'm gonna make some comments tho now, without much experience in using reflectors and what not. The one thing I notice is that his skin has orange/yellow spots and his lips have a light creamy orange color. I'm going to guess this is because of white balance? An expert on this could give you more info. I'm guessing it is because of your reflector. That's something I don't really know how to fix so you will have to ask Tim about that. I'm not really an expert on whether this is underexposed but I do think that you did a great job catching a lot of detail and shadows in the right spot. Plus all the key facial features are in focus - and that's something I usually have a struggle with (I just love my shallow DOF too much lol).

Great job with tackling this whole new lighting set up and kudos to your courage for putting it out for public critique. :D

Nice shot. Lovely expression and colour arrangement and the focus on his eyes is great.
