Thanks for the comments, folks, I shall try and improve in the future.
The capture could sure use some work, especially about the background, as rightly mentioned.
Maybe I should have tried climbing up the lights hanging directly above the table to capture the shot against the original background.
About the vertical line, whenever I take a photo with ISO higher than 100, that line comes.
I have an S5IS by Canon (re-quoted for ready reference). Any ideas on what the problem is? |

| not sharp enough and the colors are kinda blegh, needs more contrast... good idea but I think the execution could use some work... |

| personal opinion - the door/mirror in the background is a bit distracting. |

| nice catch. The image seems to be flat, perhaps a little out of focus and the background on the top right is really distracting. |

| It's hard to tell what's in focus and the vertical line in the lower part of the picture is distracting. |
