I was basically shooting my daughter horseback riding, and ran across this chain on a playground.

The weather was short of disgusting.

It's indeed not a BW - there simply were not more colors

I like the composition/framing of this, and the dof works VERY well.

I love the contrast and simplicity of this. The strong diagonal is rather pleasing, too, I find.

You have made something so simple, look really interesting. the composition it's really good and your processing really adds to it.

This is really pretty cool. I like that it looks BW, but its really not. Great capture.

brilliant image ..
love the sharp details on the droplets and the way it fades off into the distance both with the dof and the perspective .. excellent with the white/pale blue background too .. :)

Great diagonal composition. I like the detail in the focused link - there is a lot to look at here. Good DOF and minimalism created by the stark background.
This doesn't look like it has had a B&W conversion to me - just a very good reflection of a grey old day.

Nice that you interpreted this in black and white. The starkness
and contrasts add to the interest. actually, lots here to hold the
view in the image.

Disgusting weather is good for pictures :) I like this. I like diagonals. It looks almost B&W (on my screen it doesn't look B&W, more like a very grey day with little bits of reflected colour). The image also feels almost minimalistic, not quite really, but on the way there.

The best part (IMO) of images such as this is that they're fun to look at just for the lines/shapes/textures/whatever; they serve as good studies for what you can do with shallow DOF.

The worst part (IMO) of images such as this one is figuring out what in the world you want to say with it. They are good studies, and good graphics sometimes, but how do you use them to connect to an audience. That's something that I really wish I could figure out.

Good work!

I like this. The shallow DOF and long fade add interest. Given that the focal point is near the bottom of the comp I think you could have gotten away with a different aspect ratio that shortened the length of the image (I have to scroll to see the whole image on my laptop).

Focus and clarity is very good and the B/W presentation works well for this subject. B/W range could be a touch darker on the Black end.

Overall, nicely seen and captured! :-)

An interesting Point of view, The focus point of the water drops is nice. I almost wish this was horizontal rather then vertical. I like the leading line that takes me from the focal point off the corner of the photo. A touch more contrast could be used in a few places. And I like the conversion to monochrome.
