Impromptu shot taken during a recent camping trip. Temperature was about 40 degrees at the time of this snap. It was a wonderful mood on the lake that morning, with plenty of mist rising up. In fact, the "clouds" you see in the background are all rising from the surrounding waters!
When I saw this couple in the canoe, I immediately thought of the PLAY challenge. I quickly changed to a longer zoom (300mm equiv) and started shooting what I could (at extreme zoom) before my view was obscured by trees to my left.
I liked this photo best of about 3 or 4 I had to choose from. Might have preferred to see a little more of the back of the boat, but that's all I got of it in this particular capture, and it seemed the lesser of all evils compared to what I had.
As I view this entry, the background looks more like a painting to me due to the lighting that results from the mist, causing the subjects to really stand out. Hopefully others will find it appealing as well.

This is FANTASTIC! I love foggy misty photos so much. And this one is one of the best of the best with those glorious autumn colors showing through the fog. Congratulations on 7th place.

| I think it's too much cut "in the middle". The landscape was probably worth taking 2/3 or something of the image. |
