I had a similar shot to this with a clear plastic mat under the glass.

The biggest problem I see with your shot is that the lighting is very flat and this make the whole image look a bit drab and would be all but impossible to get the glass and fluid to "pop" looks pretty well focused though and there also looks to be a really nice reflection on that glass, had the lighting been better I think this could have scored really well.

Good idea for the challenge topic. It seems a bit flat to me... perhaps some brightening? And the liquid not being level when the top of the glass is level to the frame is a bit distracting. But, that's being picky.

Interesting idea but I think it wasnt exploited enough with a poor background. One can also see a bit of tshirt.

I love this puzzler. Some may criticize the fussy background or lack of sharpness but I bet they still looked at it longer than most of the rest!
