What fun this was! There were only 3 that were even close to being in focus, this was the best. I would have liked a more robust blur pattern but it was difficult to spin fast enough to get the blur and the focus.

As requested:

You need a second person to swing the child. I stood behind my cousin's husband while he spun my daughter. I placed the camera just in front of his chest. We all twirled together. I had my camera in burst mode and fired off about 5 shots for each attempt. The trick is getting the focus down. I had Abigail stand about the same distance as she would be during the actual spinning. I then focused from the point of view and distance I would be during the spinning. Once locked in, I put the camera in manual focus. Then spin and fire!

I converted it to black in white due to poor lighting and dull background colors. The black and white hides the poor choice of background.

Suberbly well shot - brings back memories of when I would do this with my own children.. well pp .. minor quibble, could show even more motion but I just love it!

very nice pic, I tried the same myself , but discarded it - and went with another idea. mine was not as sharp (or as good!!)well done
