Tough way to make money, but I see them in a lot of East Coast cities, hanging out at stoplights and often starting to clean your windshield without being asked in hopes that you'll pay them anyway. The fellow back there in the camoflauge looks like he's rather insolently leaning on that car in expectation of a payoff (either to clean the windshield or just go away). Happily, we were passing on a cross street and didn't get "serviced."
I don't usually shoot people, much less people I don't know, and I've never shot in B&W before, so this is all kind of a big unknown for me. Plus I'm guessing there are folks who have never encountered a squeegee guy and will have no clue what this shot is about ;-)
PP - straightened, cropped, lightened a bit of tree in the upper right foreground, burnt a little where it looked oddly pale (could have been dirt on the car window I shot through), increased contrast, blurred backgroiund trees a bit more, added border, resized, sharpened. |

A bit more contrast to bring them out of the shadowy background would have added impact. Great capture all the same. I'll be curious to hear where this is. |

Hard way to make a living. A tighter crop on the guy in the white, and a black and white conversion that isn't so dark might help make this a stronger story. |

I always find these guys just a bit unnerving - like if you don't want them to squeegee your window, how do you indicate that? This shot is just a tad dark for me - I find myself wanting to be able to see a bit more. |

Subjects (squeegee guys) aren't visually distinct enough from the background. Try some burning & dodging to draw attention to them. |
