I wonder if the dominance of the brown bg may have contributed to a lower vote by some. Might be worthwhile for you to play around with hue&sat to see what happens. Or maybe duotone with blues?

| This shot really has my attention... I keep coming back to it.. I hope you post your settings.. it's an abstract to be sure but it has enough reference to the seagull as a seagull that you see what it is instantly - just love it! |
