 This one WAS a zoo shot, but I thought it looked too much like a domesticated dog.

Very nice detail in this photo - no surprise there. :-)

I thought this was a fox?

As for this image as an entry, vs the otter, the otter was a better choice IMO. The thing holding it back some for me is the ears. The animal seems to be watching one thing and listening to another. If the ears were forward at attention this photo would take on a different feel.

Just some observations. :-)
