 I liked the detail and color on this wild guinea fowl, but the composition and pose were pretty mundane.

I think it's the nature of this bird, but the head doesn't look that sharp, and seems close (if not there) to being a little overexposed. Overall, has a "snapshot" feel to it. Fun shot to show the kids, but not a challenge contender (at least not for wildlife) IMO.
