 This is a new big head sculpture in Canmore Alberta
although this doesn't look like it, it is actually about four feet high and weighs 14,700lbs.I took this from across the street with the 100-400 lens.It was created by Alan Henderson an artist in Alberta,for the Town of Canmore. Derek Rosendal,a soldier in the Canadian Military was the model for this sculpture. According to Scottish Gaelic translation Canmore means "Big Head",(Likely meaning a smart or intelligent leader)

cropped out some road and sidewalk
selective blur to take out the motel in the background
selective dodge and burn to help the rocks stand out
healing brush on some chips and damage
selective curves to enhance contrast between back ground and head.
added border
flattened image then topaz sharpened
vivacity clean
resized and save for web.

Great subject. The background looks a little too "worked on" -- maybe selectively processing the head would have helped.

Nice light, colour and dof. Just not sure of the connection to "abandoned" except for the title. But then again I'm dense, so I'll have to take your word for it that he represents an abandoned man :)
