Not much to say. Hand, incense, camera and a couple lights.

Ended up shooting tons of smoke shots. Figured I might as well make a series out of it.

Don't think it will do very well but I dig it. In the end that's all that matters. :-)

I'm totally thrilled you got the willpower to go back and reshoot to get the shot you wanted. That's a great feeling. Though I've done 4 smoke shots myself, I'm not a big fan of incense. With match pics, friends and family who come in later think I burnt my food again LOL. So I can imagine what you where going through. The smell does tend to stick around.

Hey all thanks for the comments. Their really appreciated...

Techno, I actually went back and reshot the image I'm using in the series after the challenge had started. I just wasn't thrilled with the outcome. So I suffered through tons of incense lung and got the image I wanted. 6.2's a good score. I think it's valid for what this is.

Thanks again. :-)

Cool Dave, slipping away.
eta- checked out the Devianart version-- Smokin' image! The reshoot feels much more balanced with the curling smoke across the top.

This one could have been entitled ephemeral, far more fairly than the other. I like the blue tint.

I must admit I like the one you have on deviantART a bit more, all the curls of smoke at the top on it really add to the shot. This one is still brilliant though, I love the wisps around the fingers and the blue smoke really stands out against your background. Great work.

Really cool idea Dave.
I love how the hand appears to be smoking.
Great composition. I'm trying to work out the title though... It slipped through the fingers?

I bit too surrealistic, or maybe not enough? I don't get the subject.
Anyway, great lighting and fantastic smoke production!
