After reading your post about this image, I decided to take a look.

Even after knowing what to look for, the smoke is hard to see on this monitor. (I'll check on my calibrated monitor later this evening.) How the image comes across, is that the background has been painted a pale color.

Unfortunately many challenge voters are litteralists. If they don't see obvious smoke, then the image gets a poor grade. Should you be fifth from last? Probably not. But it happens...

The composition is very solid - good lines and colors and I think you did well under the conditions. The focus on the face is off - with the front leg being more in focus rather than the face - which to me seems like the focal point based on the lines from the arms and lighting. For this specific challenge - the smoke is not especially evident in the shot resulting in voters giving you lower scores.

Its probably difficult for you to understand this photograph, because it was a scene in a Show, some people said maybe different angle ect.
It was very very Dark and the Stage Smoke if ever yo have seen it is very hard for Focusing.

So with that in Mind I did nt take this photo with the Purpose of looking for a Photo to do well in a Challenge, But to be fair I have been Hanging on and Hangin on in Here, I think Time is Up for me now, because there was some sensible people around who use to give great advice.
Where have they gone !
I am sure some of you will jump on this and say what is expected because of my disspointment.
But Fifth Last ?
See Ya

I think it could use some wider DOF and an angle of view more from the left in order to create a diagonal with the legs. This would also capture her gaze. The title is bad.
