 I wanted to start thinking about this week's theme as early as possible. On the day the contest was announced, I started looking out for the photo-ops. As I was readying myself to cook my dinner, and as I switched on my Gas Stove, the bluishness of the flame excited me.

After that I was awake till 3:45 A.M. in the night, experimenting with the flame, and trying to device a nice way of capturing it. I came back the next day, to finish the shooting work; it took some 20 minutes.

There is nothing much in the set-up though. So, you know that the shot is of my Gas Stove Flame at its
full burn. The stove has 2 flames; I used a mirror to get the third after I decided to get the UFO effect. The camera was set on slow shutter speed. I positioned it such on the tripod that I cold hold it for 2-3 seconds and then let to slowly fall for another 4 seconds to get the trailing effect. It was quite interesting and fun working for this shot.

Your title is perfect, as soon as I saw the pic I thought, "UFOs." Strange and fun to look at.
