Main light from right, weak light from above, reflector on left to even out the exposure. The lip and interior wall of the morter initially pale chalky grey, much lighter than the outside, but a tiny bit of olive oil cured that problem. I realize it is important to remove the stems before grinding, but I thought the image more interesting with the intact puya chiles.

i really like the texture in the marble, but it takes away from the chilies themselves. beautiful chilies btw
